Unexpected Love

So it's summer (in this hemisphere anyway), but the lipgloss I've been addicted to lately is from Lancome's Fall 2008 collection. Lately I just can't get enough of Juicy Tube in the shade Maharani Jewels (pictured on the right in the photo). It's deceptively dark in the tube, but goes on the lips a lovely sheer berry and fades to a very pretty pink. Unless you're wearing a very warm makeup look I think this would look good with just about anything you wear. And the formula is so cushy and moisturizing. I just love juicy tubes! I've been keeping Maharani Jewels in my makeup bag and wearing it all the time for the past few months. This was a limited edition shade, but is still pretty easily available on ebay and at Lancome outlets. Usually the price at an outlet is only $7 or $8! Nice compared to full retail-- $18.

So how about you? What are your summer favorites? Are they summer items, or just things you really love? I'm not the prime candidate for most summery looks; it seems every line has some sort of bronze collection. Well eh, I can only do bronze in very small doses! I prefer the cooler shades of winter and fall makeup. You?
